First LEED Platinum Home in Virginia
I’m always happy to see a new green building project in my neck of the woods. I’m also using this tumblr account as a repository for stuff I want to come back to and there’s definitely a story here.
This home is obviously the creme de la creme of green homes with a matching pricetag (1.75 mill - not exactly the best way to popularize green building) - a Liveroof green roof, rainwater cisterns, and photovoltaics are just a few of the home’s many assets. But there are lessons to be learned here and easy upgrades that we can all make that may cost more upfront, but will, ultimately, put money back in our wallets.
